Found this jawbone while doing some gardening and not sure what animal it may belong to. Pretty certain it is not a cat considering the many rows of rounded teeth. Anyone able to offer some insight? Found in New Zealand

Looks like you nailed it. I didn't know something other than sharks would have those rows of teeth!

rastacheech420

I have no idea what that is but I would really like to know myself. That's is really fucking interesting(pardon my french)

I can't find a match with any known animal. However there is an extinct cat like creature that used to live on new Zealand that might be it. It has that same square jaw structure. You may want to take that to a university.

I'm pretty sure there was never an excinct cat creature in NZ. Its famous for never having any mammals.

It's a Snapper jaw, lower. https://images.app.goo.gl/U2rovMjHdVeunB5RA

Indeed it is, interesting that I found it in a garden nowhere near any water

https://abesanimals.blogspot.com/2016/08/thylacoline-zealandus.html?m=1 A marsupial cat like creature. That's why I said take it to a university. It might be important

JoshRobertson234

That is 100% fake.

Cloaked42m

You appear to be correct sir. And someone else ID'd it as a Snapper jaw. A fish around New Zealand.
